National Youth Day Celebration & Competitions – 08.01.2026
Sri Ramakrishna Math joyfully conducted the National Youth Day Celebration on 08 January 2026, commemorating the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, with a series of inspiring competitions for school students. The programme was aimed at encouraging youth to imbibe Swamiji’s ideals of character, confidence, and service.
A total of 22 schools enthusiastically participated in the event, with 162 students taking part in various competitions. The competitions included Essay Writing, Elocution, Recitation, and Drawing, providing students with a platform to express their creativity, thoughts, and talents inspired by the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
All participating schools were presented with mementos as a token of appreciation. Every student who took part in the competitions received a certificate of participation, a cash award of ₹100, and books authored on Swami Vivekananda, encouraging continued learning and inspiration.
Winners of each competition were awarded as follows:
- First Prize: Certificate, ₹1,000 cash prize, and Swamiji’s books
- Second Prize: Certificate, ₹600 cash prize, and Swamiji’s books
- Third Prize: Certificate, ₹400 cash prize, and Swamiji’s books
The celebration concluded on a joyful and meaningful note, leaving the students motivated to follow the path of strength, discipline, and selfless service as envisioned by Swami Vivekananda. The event truly reflected the spirit of National Youth Day – awakening the potential of young minds.
All the teachers and children were provided snacks and lunch.
